1. I was not a participant in the study so why should I care
2. None of the studies ever prove anything conclusively
3. I could make up my own study using gibberish that I invented and most people would fall for it

We do ourselves a huge disservice to internalize the assumption that these things are inherently good, and that any technique that produces them is by extension also good. Context is important, and long-term outcomes need to be considered.” It may not be word-for-word, but in conversation, THIS is the point I try to make with others when discussing body fat & weight loss. You put it so succinctly, as always!
